Welcome!DTC exists in relation to each of our members individual professional goals. Established in 2001, our team of experienced mentors has taken their years of international experience and now offers it to modern birth workers who have a passion for creating change within their own communities. Working towards certification is but one small discussion in the big world of birth work! Birth work is active work, and we have created a program that guides our members through an exploration of standard theoretical concepts, the ubiquitous need for client-focused support, and how each person can take their knowledge to build a model of support that can evoke great change. There are no "cookie cutter" birth workers here! Our program creates space each member to explore, reflect, and grow.
Unmatched mentoring, a focus on individual needs, and an emphasis on collaboration.
We look forward to walking alongside you as you change birth culture too!

Thank you for visiting our page.
Due to recent events at Doula Training Canada concerning the representation and support of our BIPOC members, our organization is taking a pause from social media for some much-needed self-reflection. As we do so, please accept our apologies for the harm was caused concerning our actions and inactions.
We have heard your concerns, and are working to restructure the organization, update members, and audit our learning materials. We continue to receive your feedback and recognize the extent of the work that we have to do, effective immediately. This includes taking stock of what we need to change, and how we can must do better holistically as an organization so that we can show up, organization-wide, in an anti-racist, anti-oppression, and safe way for our members and our clients going forward. This will not be a quick process, particularly during these times. As such, please note that our online silence is not an indication of our intention to ignore, minimize or exacerbate what we recognize as a serious moment in our organization’s history.
We humbly ask that you accept our apology.
What Our Students Say…
Training with DTC to become a Birth Doula has been an amazing positive experience in my life. I feel so blessed to have joined a sensational group of women pushing the bar to educate, encourage and empower women during the most incredible journey of their life.
Thank again for today’s extensive lessons. I am feeling super excited and I have gained extra confidence over the course of today!
The videos on these modules for the dual stream are SO GOOD. First of all it’s great to be able to see/hear you guys especially as a home-study person and secondly so much of the content is covering stuff I was really wondering about (e.g what is meant by emotional support, and the nuances of relationship building with primary care folks). Loving it!!
I must say, I enrolled for the holistic program and I’ve listened to the first audio introduction and OH MY I am excited! This course is what my dreams are made of. Cannot waaaait to have these tools under my belt. Doula Canada is incredible. I am so grateful for you!Certifying Member
I think this is a wonderful and much needed program. I see this specialty really helping so many lives. Even as a trained midwife I learned so much! Caylan has guided me through this entire journey and has provided me with honest and constructive feedback that I greatly appreciate.
