The Fertility Support Practitioner is a one-of-a-kind program designed to deepen your confidence in compassionate support and practices related to fertility, preconception, and options for support. As a Fertility Support Practitioner, you will understand the latest in reproductive science, the body’s psychophysiological response to stress, and how that impacts fertility and broaden your understanding of the experience of (in)fertility at all stages, as well as the technicalities involved with getting pregnant through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
This certification combines online learning, live webinars and mentorship to build your knowledge of the reproductive life cycle and provide you with the much-needed skills to enhance offerings for your clients.Â

The Fertitliy Support Practioner course is delivered through a combination of online self-guided modules and 6 live webinar sessions with your instructor.Â
Throughout the course you will have a total of 6 assignments and 8 small quizzes to test your knowledge and prepare you for offering fertility services in your community.Â
Attendance at the 6 live webinars is mandatory. The webinars are offered quarterly to ensure you are able to attend all 6 sessions throughout your certification period. These webinars are to enhance your learning and offer a time to collaborate with your peers and receive mentorship from your instructor.Â
There is also a book for required reading, and a one page book report due. Upon completing this program students will have completed a minimum of 32 direct contact hours with your instructor, excluding assignments, your exam, your practicum, and your online module work.
Each student has 24 months to complete the following practitioner requirements:
- Complete the all designated online course modules
- Attend 6 live virtual webinars
- Achieve a minimum grade of 80% on all module quizzes
- Obtain 8 approved Educational Units and provide a written summary about your experience (within or outside Doula Canada)
- Completion of all core assignments – 6 in total
- Complete required reading, with review
- Practical assessment hours for at least two clients, totaling 10 hours each
- Achieve a minimum grade of 85% on an online final examination (proctored)
​​Cost of any chosen educational units costs are not included in registration fee. Doula Canada does not charge any outside fees, membership fees or recertification fees.
Students who do not complete the program in the 24 month timeframe may request a continuance to the next session (a $150 administrative fee will apply).
Our Fertility Support Practitioner program is set at a one-time membership and certification fee of ​$425 (+ tax) for full recognition and completion with Doula Canada.
We do not charge annual membership or renewal fees.
The cost of required readings (1 total) and the cost of educational unit workshops or webinars for EU credits (8 total) are additional costs to the student. We encourage you to seek out free or low-cost options.
