DTC Members Event: EDI Watch Party & Discussion of The Diverse Doula Project
Join EDI Lead, Keira Grant, for a special Member Only EDI Watch Party!
At this event registered DTC students and alumni will begin by watching an interview with Kimberly Porter, Executive Director of the Diverse Doula Project in Portland, Oregon.
After the 30-minute screening we will discuss our observations about the support needs of multiply marginalized clients, and what we can learn from BIPOC doula’s organizing and advocacy strategies.
***Registrants will be provided the episode and discussion question one (2) days prior to the meeting. This event is for registered DTC members and will be cross-referenced prior to addition to the event attendance list.

About your host:
Keira is currently the Social Media Coordinator & Communications and Inclusion and Engagement Lead – Racialized Communities with Doula Canada.
Keira Grant (she/her) brings a wealth of experience to the Online Community Moderator role. She is a Queer, Black woman with a twenty-year track record in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) education, projects, and community building initiatives. Organizations Keira has worked and volunteered for include Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children (METRAC), Transgender, Bisexual, Lesbian Gay Alliance at York (TBLGAY), and Teens Confronting and Educating Homophobia (TEACH) at Planned Parenthood of Toronto.
In 2020, Keira was the Policy and Research Analyst at Rainbow Health Ontario, Sherbourne Health Centre. In this role, she developed resources and policy advice on health issues affecting LGBT2SQ+ communities in Ontario.
